Agave 'Desert Sunset'

With his sharp eye always on the lookout for an exciting new plant, Tony Avent spotted this wide margined sport of Agave desmettiana in, of all places, the landscape planting at a Home Depot in Phoenix, Arizona! Agave 'Desert Sunset' forms a striking, fountain shaped plant of blue-green leaves, each edge by an outstanding wide, bright yellow margin. The smooth, pliable leaves end with a cinnamon colored spine. Agave 'Desert Sunset' makes a rewarding pot plant for northern gardeners that is easy to over winter in a sunny window.
