Hosta 'Heart of the Sunrise'
[L] As beautiful as it is, Hosta 'Goodness Gracious' is very difficult to tissue culture. The resulting gold sport Rob Mortko ended up with in his tissue culture lab was too nice to discard, so he named it 'Heart of the Sunrise'. Possibly a tetraploid, the broad, heart-shaped leaves are gently domed, softly rippled around the edge, and lightly corrugated. Like rays of sunshine breaking free of the eastern horizon, deeply inprinted veins radiate from the leaf base. Hosta 'Heart of the Sunrise' will form a golden mound at least 20" tall and 40" across.
