Colocasia 'Distant Memory'

A new and extremely vigorous hybrid elephant ear! Large, arrow-shaped leaves are lightly puckered and glossy-black in color when grown in the sun. Colocasia 'Distant Memory' forms a striking 4-5' tall specimen that holds its huge leaves in a unique, upright manner. A fast grower that thrives in the heat, with rich soil and lots of moisture. The Elephant is a symbol for Alzheimer's Disease ("an elephant never forgets"), so it is symbolic that Walters Gardens, Inc. is donating $0.25 for every 'Distant Memory' Elephant Ear sold to Alzheimer's research in honor of Harriet Walters, the lifeblood of the family business.
