Hosta 'Blueberry Muffin'
Regular price $20.00
[M] Hosta guru Bill Meyer must have been craving blueberry muffins when he decided to experiment with Eric Smith's ground-breaking idea of crossing early blooming sieboldiana-type hostas with long lasting fall blooming hostas. Bill's cross of 'Frances Williams' x 'Fall Bouquet' resulted in this plant that shows characteristics of Smith's famous Tardianas, but also brings some new traits to the mix. Rounded blue leaves are a nice deep blue and of excellent substance. The foliage of Hosta 'Blueberry Muffin' becomes quite heavily puckered and dimpled at maturity. Petioles are generously dusted in red specks. Forms a mound about 14" high and 36" across that holds up nicely in the sun and heat of summer. Many pale, fertile flowers open just above the foliage.
