[L-VL] Harold McDonell has been quietly hybridizing for years in his Fayetteville, Georgia garden, but only recently have some of his best creations been made available. 'Carved Complexity' is a substantial plant of greenish-yellow, rounded leaves up to 15" long that emerge in the spring with a waxy finish. The white backed leaves often form domes, each deeply imprinted with veins, and show light puckering with maturity. A complex cross involving 'Komodo Dragon', 'Maekawa', 'Choo Choo Train', and an unnamed Lakeside seedling, Hosta 'Carved Complexity' grows into a stately, upright mound at least 28" tall and 60" across that blooms in mid summer with near white, fertile flowers.
