Hosta 'Holar Mystic Purple'

[M] Ronny Van Keer is doing some outstanding work progressing red and purple color in hostas. 'Holar Mystic Purple' is a seedling from 'Purple Haze', and a key building block in Ronny's work. Blue-green leaves are blushed with purple radiating from the base of the leaf, nearly to the leaf tip. I always found 'Purple Haze' very difficult to hybridize with, but Hosta 'Holar Mystic Purple' sets seed with ease and does pass along the blush to some of its seedlings. If you're not a hybridizer, this makes a fast growing plant that puts on a unique spring show.
