Hosta 'Lipstick Blonde'

[M] The red and yellow color scheme is showy and popular, but many of the hostas with these colors are from similar breeding lines and look much a like. This hybrid of 'Granny's Rouge' x 'Designer Genes' is a great addition to the group. Pointed, yellow leaves have gently undulating edges and are coated with milky wax in the spring. This gives the plant a soft, hazy look, but by mid summer the wax is gone and the foliage is brilliant yellow. Hosta 'Lipstick Blonde' blooms with fertile, lavender flowers held on red scapes in late summer.
