Hosta 'Evening Inferno'
In The Country Exclusive!
[S-M] Where there's smoke, there's fire, but this new hybrid from Don Dean is a raging inferno! 'Evening Inferno' has saturated red petioles with red burning through the veins on both the front and back of the leaves. Rounded foliage emerges brilliant yellow in the spring and shows a good deal of corrugation and texture at maturity. What really fans the flames is the way the leaves are held in an open, layered manner that shows off the blazing red petioles. Hosta 'Evening Inferno' grows into an upright clump about 16" tall and 33" across that blooms with fertile, lavender flowers on saturated red scapes in late summer. Plant this where the setting sun can backlight the clump, and you'll see how it got its name!
Limited. Plants are small.
