Hosta 'Time in a Bottle'

[S-M] A new hybrid from Hans Hansen involving 'Atom Smasher' and a 'Curly Fries' seedling. 'Time in a Bottle' emerges in the spring with narrow, rippled yellow leaves. The foliage turns chartreuse by late summer, when it blooms with a surprising twist. Red scapes hold showy purple flower buds that never open. The buds are lined up along one side of the scape, like tiny purple bottles. If only we knew what stories they contained! Hosta 'Time in a Bottle' is a fast grower that will quickly form a mound about 12" tall and 36" across. PP33267
