Hosta 'Baltimore Blues'

[M] An introduction from the late Roger Smith of Maryland. 'Baltimore Blues' is a seedling of 'Fragrant Blue' with incredible blue color that seems to glow in early morning and late evening light. Not only is the color outstanding, but the characteristic "bubble" that develops in the center of most leaves when the plant matures is distinct. Hosta 'Baltimore Blues' exhibits traits common in tetraploids, including fantastic leaf substance, short, stout scapes, and widely flared flowers. A mature plant will grow to about 18" tall and 36" wide, and blooms mid-late summer with fertile flowers that are near white with pale lavender stripes.
