Hosta 'Sterling Medallion'

[S-M] Originally only available to members of the American Hosta Society, this hybrid involving 'Frosted Dimples', 'Sea Frolic', and 'Purple Verticulated Elf' may be Don Dean's best blue. The thick, heart-shaped leaves of 'Sterling Medallion' are gently cupped, lightly dimpled, and ringed with softly rippled margins. What really captures your attention is the color...an incredible silvery-blue so thick with frosty wax that the color holds well into late summer here in Iowa. Hosta 'Sterling Medallion' is a good grower that forms a low clump about 13" tall and 30" across that blooms in early summer with light lavender flowers.
