Aralia cordata 'Sun King'

2020 Perennial Plant of the Year!

There is nothing bashful about this Japanese Spikenard! Pinnate leaves have toothed margins and burst from the ground in the spring like a vivid ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds. Aralia 'Sun King' quickly grows into a 3 foot mound that remains bright yellow all summer. In late summer, clusters of white flowers arranged like fireworks develop into purple berries that finish off the show. 'Sun King' is an easy perennial that will light up the shade garden.
