Godzilla is coming! Godzilla is coming! Picture a Japanese Painted Fern on steroids and you have this monster sized fern! Discovered at Tony Avent's Plant Delights Nursery, this is likely a hybrid between the common Japanese Painted Fern (Athyrium n. 'Pictum') and the Lady Fern (Athyrium filix-femina). A massive beast, but a handsome one. The silver fronds are highlighted with green, and held on red stems. Athyrium 'Godzilla' spreads slowly in moist, organic soil where it will form an arching clump about 3 feet tall and 4-6 feet across.
