Hosta 'Brutan Star'

[VL]  This cross of 'Brutus' x 'Fuji Botan' from German hybridizers Gerhard and Renate Ragus resulted in a colossal blue star ready to shine over your garden! Hosta 'Brutan Star' towers over its surroundings in an upright, vase-shaped clump reaching a monumental 30" tall by at least 50" wide. Strong, erect petioles lift the broad, heavily textured blue-green leaves high into the air, drawing awe from every viewing angle. Unlike many giant blue hostas that lose their color when summer heat sets in, this fast-growing powerhouse retains its rich, frosted blue color longer into the season than typical blues. Hosta 'Brutan Star' makes a grand specimen for a background or focal point in the garden and blooms with fertile, white flowers in early to midsummer.
