Hosta 'Epic Blue Wave'

[M-L]  Charlie Kwick of Eau Claire, Wisconsin hit on something special with this 'Blue Umbrellas' hybrid. Hosta 'Epic Blue Wave' grows into a bold, sturdy clump about 20" tall by at least 40" wide.

Leaves unfurl powdery blue with heavy corrugation and puckering that gives each leaf a sculpted, somewhat folded look. As the season progresses the blue takes on a glossy green sheen, so the plant appears as two different, equally striking specimens through the growing season. In midsummer scapes of fertile, pale lavender flowers bloom just above the mound.

Hosta 'Epic Blue Wave' is a reliable performer with enough presence to anchor a bed or stand alone as a focal point.
