Hosta 'Grateful Red'

[M] A crisp and colorful hybrid from Jeff Moore. Resulting from a cross of ('Neat Splash' x 'Designer Genes') x 'Katsuragawa Beni', Hosta 'Grateful Red' has pointed, grass-green leaves trimmed with a narrow, snow-white margin. Red petioles push a flash of red into the base of each leaf. Not only is Hosta 'Grateful Red' a colorful addition to the shade garden, but it is also a proven parent, lending red petioles, red leaf edges, and even blushing to its progeny. Blooms in late summer with red scapes of lavender flowers.
