Hosta 'Honeydripper'
[M-L] Dan Wols scored a sweet victory when he made the complex cross ('Neptune' x 'Red October') x ('Dancing Queen' x 'Dragon Lady') to create this golden delight! Reaching 18" tall and spreading at least 35" across, Hosta 'Honeydripper' is a real head turner!
The foliage looks like it is drenched in sweet, liquid gold. Emerging in the spring glowing, saturated yellow, the arching leaves feature prominent deep veining, irregularly puckered corrugation, and big ruffles along the margins. As those golden leaves cascade downward like dripping honey, playful twists and turns reveal chalky white undersides. Eventually the color softens to a refreshing chartreuse as the season progresses.
By pulling a fantastic collection of traits from its star-studded lineage, Hosta 'Honeydripper' packs a lot of sweet character into one clump!
