Hosta 'Jack Be Nimble'
[L] Rick Goodenough struck gold with his cross of 'Blueberry Muffin' x 'Mr Jack'. Not only did he score 'Jack Berry' from that magical cross, but also its sibling, 'Jack Be Nimble'. Heavy leaves are a rich shade of blue, have gentle, wavy margins, and develop light puckering with maturity. Purple-red petioles hold the foliage in a somewhat upright manner, showing off the red color that spreads through the center of both the front and back side of the leaves. Hosta 'Jack Be Nimble' grows larger than 'Jack Berry', and makes a striking show in the spring when the red color is at its best. Flowers are fertile both ways, making this an excellent candidate for hybridizing.
