Hosta 'Lava Flow'

[M]  This fast-growing sport of 'Pineapple Upsidedown Cake' from Mark Zilis erupts into a 15" tall by 34" wide mound of color and motion. Hosta 'Lava Flow' unleashes a molten flow of long, narrow leaves with light green centers framed by darker green, rippled margins that cascade like molten currents surging down a volcanic slope. For most of the growing season, creamy-yellow veins glow against the darker foliage before the entire mound cools to green by late summer. Hosta 'Lava Flow' blooms with lavender flowers in late summer.
