Hosta 'Maize Maze'

[VL]  When Wisconsin hybridizer Jeff Moore grew out open pollinated seeds from a powerhouse seedling of ('Empress Wu' x 'Key West') made by award-winning Dutch breeder Jeroen Linneman of Hosta Valley fame, he landed on something monumental! It's easy to see why Hosta 'Maize Maze' commands instant respect. Inheriting giant genes, this very large plant brings towering presence and vibrant color to your garden.

Emerging in the spring a bright corn-yellow, the expansive leaves feature deeply impressed veins and strong, rippled margins that sweep outward with commanding grace. As summer progresses, that unique yellow color mellows into a relaxed yellow-green. Lavender flowers bloom well above the towering mound during early to mid summer.

Beyond its role as living architecture, Hosta 'Maize Maze' is fully fertile both ways and has already produced noteworthy offspring for Jeff.
