Hosta 'Pondering Parsippany'

[S]  With Josh's encouragement, Jeff added this last minute entry in the First Look 10 Seedling and Sport Competition in Parsippany, New Jersey.  The plant won the William and Eleanor Lachman Award for Best Seedling selected by the Judges, and Jeff christened it Hosta 'Pondering Parsippany'.  A cross of 'Corkscrew' x plantaginea with green, ruffled leaves that come to a sharp, twisted tip.  Red petioles hold the smooth foliage, forming a vigorous mound about 10-12" tall and 24-30" across.  Hosta 'Pondering Parsippany' looks good well into fall, when it blooms with lavender flowers on red scapes.
