[M] Bob Solberg's Green Hill Farm celebrated 40 years in the hosta business in 2021, and he marked the milestone with a ruby introduction. Hosta 'Ruby Earrings' is the result of incorporating 'Beet Salad', 'Sun Shower', 'Designer Genes', and seedling Bob calls 48/49. Yellow, deeply cupped leaves are lightly puckered, with exaggerated "lobes" at the base. Ruby red pierces half way into the leaf from the petiole, creating a colorful garden jewel. Hosta 'Ruby Earrings' forms a distinctive, upright clump at least 10" tall and 22" across.
