Hosta 'Shamrock Shake'

[M]  When Illinois hybridizer Dan Wols crossed 'Skywriter' with a complex seedling involving 'Miss American Pie', 'One Man's Treasure', and 'Designer Genes', he served up something truly extraordinary! Hosta 'Shamrock Shake' brings a totally unique, cool color that you simply do not find in standard hostas. You'll want to be first in line for a taste of this delicious hosta!

The foliage is delightfully refreshing from spring through fall. Forming a mound about 16" tall and 30" across, the minty green leaves are wrapped in a heavy, persistent waxy that gives the entire plant a frosty, frothy appearance. Each leaf features fancifully ruffled edges that gracefully show off chalky white undersides, all held aloft on purple petioles. Lavender flowers bloom in midsummer.

Hosta 'Shamrock Shake'  is perfect for adding cool, icy tones to the standard bold greens, blues and golds of most hosta collections.
