Hosta 'Sir Prize'

[M-L] Hosta 'Sir Prize' is a unique and beautiful sport of 'Alex Summers' that was discovered by Dave White of Iowa. White misting stands out against the green center, all surrounded by a wide gold edge. Excellent leaf substance and good sun tolerance complement the plant's distinct variegation. 'Sir Prize' is a good grower that forms a semi-upright, medium-large sized clump unlike any other.  Very challenging to produce by tissue culture.  There is some question around what the plant is supposed to look like, thanks to the range of looks coming out of TC.  The photos on this page are photos of divisions from the original plant (OS), and we'll do our best to select plants than look as close to these photos as possible.  'Sir Prize' does green up somewhat through the summer.
