Hosta 'Stand by Me'
[S-M] Did you think 'June' had given us all the sports we could possibly need? Think again! Marco Fransen brings us one more that is a bit different. Hosta 'Stand by Me' features the same chartreuse-gold, heavy duty leaves of its parent, surrounded by a very wide, often irregular, blue margin. What makes this plant different is the mound form. Not only is the plant smaller and more compact, but it grows into a fairly upright mound. 'Stand by Me' makes a vigorous, durable clump that is best featured toward the front of the bed. Pale lavender flowers in mid to late summer.
