[S-M] It may look like it can bite the hand that plants it, but Hosta 'Urchin' is friendly to the touch. Long, narrow green leaves are strongly rippled along each side, ending with a sharp, twisted point. A quick grower, 'Urchin' will form a spiny little clump about 8" tall and 13" across in short order. This complex hybrid from Doug Beilstein includes genetics from 'Candy Dish', H. pycnophylla, 'Harvest Dandy', 'Raspberry Sorbet', and 'Atom Smasher'. Summer brings dark scapes that hold fertile, purple flowers.
