Hosta 'Zebra Stripes'

[M] This is one of Tony Avent's hybrids from his southern redneck 'Outhouse Delight', but with a few 'Abba Dabba Do' genes included for good measure. A bizarre combination that you will either love or hate! The pointed leaves emerge in the spring pure, stark white. The veins gradually begin to turn green and the entire leaf becomes lightly misted with green by fall. Hosta 'Zebra Stripes' has slightly better substance than other similar hostas, but still needs a location with good moisture and morning sun to reach its potential. The 10" high by 28" wide clump does not turn solid green. Fertile, lavender flowers bloom in mid summer.
